When you come and stay with us Villas Sur Mer at Negril in Jamaica, you will no doubt want to get out and about and see as much of this beautiful island as you possibly can. I know some folk come to just chill out and relax, walk along Negril beach, visit the lighthouse, watch the sunset over the Caribbean sea, throw themselves off the cliffs. Pardon? “Throw themselves off the cliffs!” Yes, really, people jump off the cliffs at Negril into the Caribbean Sea, its great fun, very dangerous but great fun.
Some folk though, they like to get into a car or get on a bus and you have to almost strap them down to get them to sit still! These people would be interest in a “Combo tour” and no, it isn’t a 4 piece jazz band, a combo tour is two or more tours in one package and there are some excellent combo tours on offer for visitors to Villas Sur Mer.
One such combo tour is to Dolphin Cove and Negril Sunset Cruise: Here is what I have ripped off the website:
Tour description provided by Viator
Delight in the company of dolphins and take a sunset cruise along the Jamaican coast on this full-day combo tour from Ocho Rios. At Dolphin Cove Sandy Bay, caress or swim with dolphins after learning about these friendly creatures, and meander through the cove’s jungle trails to see tropical birds, iguanas and snakes. Take a break to purchase lunch at Jimmy Buffett-founded Margaritaville in Negril and lounge on nearby white-sand beaches. Then climb aboard a catamaran for a snorkel, topping off your day with the perfect sunset over the Caribbean in front of Rick’s Cafe.
Spend your morning exploring the natural wonders of Dolphin Cove Sandy Bay, enjoy lunch and beach time in Margaritaville in Negril, and then capture a spectacular sunset while aboard a catamaran.
Dolphin Cove Sandy Bay (3 hours):
Explore the trails of lush Dolphin Cove Jungle, and discover indigenous animals and birds in their natural habitat. Stand next to macaws and parrots for a snapshot, or simply pet them and wander onward to watch iguanas, snakes and other reptiles being fed. As you pass a seaside lagoon, check out stingrays, eels, fish and turtles, perhaps bopping your head to the beat of Caribbean drumming in the background. And, of course, dolphins!
For your play time with dolphins at Dolphin Cove Sandy Bay, select one of three tours upon booking: ‘Dolphin Encounter Program,’‘Dolphin Swim,’ or ‘Ultimate Swim Program.’ Details of each are set forth in the Itinerary section below.
After Dolphin Cove Sandy Bay, you’re taken to Margaritaville in Negril.
Beach Time at Margaritaville (1.5 hours):
Enjoy lunch (own expense) at Margaritaville, a lively restaurant and entertainment complex founded by Jimmy Buffett, located along Negril’s gorgeous 7-mile (11-km) stretch of white sand beach. Dig your toes in the soft sand and relax until you’re picked up in the afternoon for your sunset cruise.
Negril Catamaran Cruise with Sunset Viewing near Rick’s Café (3 hours):
Climb aboard a luxury catamaran to start your 3-hour snorkel and sunset sailing adventure. Sway to reggae music while sipping complimentary drinks as you cruise along the coast. Then stop to snorkel by the boat and admire the underwater beauty of Jamaica’s seas, and swim among brightly colored fish and coral reefs — or just soak up the sun on the boat’s deck.
After navigating the waters, your crew will take you to an ideal spot to watch the sun set over the Caribbean, just offshore from Rick’s Cafe, one of the area’s first restaurants and still popular since it opened in the 1970s. Nearby, you’ll see adventurous locals and visitors jump from 35-foot-high (11-meter) cliffs into the brilliant water below.
After admiring the stunning sunset from your boat, your crew will sail you back to Negril, where a minivan awaits to transport you back to your hotel.
